La Crosse County’s debt has grown under the fiscally irresponsible liberal leadership that’s in charge now. That means that today taxpayers are paying $7 million each year in interest–money that could be going to roads, clean drinking water, supporting law enforcement, or permanent solutions to homelessness. Instead, much of it went to move the county government out of a perfectly good office building that is now dorms for WTC. Thanks to liberal leadership, the County got a new office, and you got shoddy roads, dirty water, rising crime and a homeless crisis.
La Crosse County ended 2021 $76 million in debt. Principal and interest payments totaled $6.8 million in 2021.
